Today is the day after Mother’s Day, and I cannot tell you how proud I am of my girls. I have always told them that I would appreciate handmade gifts more than anything for Mother’s Day. Seems like this year they really took it to heart. Both TEE and S secretively began working on their gifts for almost a week with the help of my husband. Check out all the goodies I got.
Like every year, I was treated to breakfast in bed. As much as I love to be fed, I love the fact that it is one of those days where TEE, S and my husband spend time with each other cooking, spilling, arguing, dropping cutlery, breaking plates, sometimes screaming and staging food all in the quest to feed me and make it a special day for me. This was the breakfast tray that was served to me complete with handmade DuckTape flower (made by TEE), candle and above all GRITS (can you believe my husband made grits :), it seems that we had run out of oatmeal).
Once breakfast was served, both TEE and S could not wait to show me their creation. Since S is the youngest I told her to go first (also the fact that she is impatient). She gave me a card which was a collage of all our pictures together.
She also gifted me with a million dollar note which allowed me to go on an imaginary spending spree. 🙂
Once S was done with her gifts, it was TEE’s turn. I cannot believe, the amount of time she spent on her gifts. She first gave me a scrapbook with few of my pictures (so thoughtful).
She made sure to add a picture of us when she was a baby. This was literally my first year of motherhood. It did bring back a lot of memories.
She thoughtfully added a picture of my mom.
And finally she gave me an over-sized card which again was handmade. With that she included a homemade Lavender foot scrub which left me totally surprised. I have to get the recipe from her later.
All in all it was a great day and I am thankful to my babies for spoiling me and making it the best day possible.
