Did you know the word bandanna was derived from Hindi language? Its derived from the word “bandhana” which literally means “to tie”. The Dollar stores carry a variety of bandanas in all different colors, usually with paisley prints. Some stores will have the cotton variety, while others have the polyester ones. I wanted to transform these bandanas into something totally different, so I tried to make a reversible half apron from the them.
I got two different bandanas (orange & pink color) and sewed them wrong sides together. Kept a 3″ opening on the top. Reversed them to the right sides from the 3″ opening.
Cut up the third bandana (blue – for contrast) on a bias into 3″ strips . Sewed the blue strips together to make one long strap (I apologize, I did not measure them). Finally I sewed the blue strap on to the main body of the orange & pink bandana and finished it. Check out the pics and let me know if you like them. I only wished I had photographed them better.
