GOT MILK? Milk producers can now add a new tagline WEAR MILK! Yeah, you heard it right. In not so distant future, wearing milk might become a reality. A microbiology student from Germany, Anke Domaske, has successfully made fabric out of milk. She used casein which is a protein from milk and invented a process of heating it with other natural ingredients in a meat mincing machine. The resulting strands were then spun into yarn in a spinning machine. Anke claims this new fabric named QMilch is the first man-made fiber manufactured entirely without using any chemicals.
She has launched her own clothing line Mademoisells Chi Chi and word is celebrities have already made a bee-line for it. In her statement she said “amino acids in the protein are antibacterial, anti-aging and can help regulate both blood circulation and body temperatureā. The dress created from milk is bound to be expensive as it takes around $200 worth of milk to make one.
Although I have huge respect for inventive people like Anke, in this case I would rather drink milk than wear one. What do you think???
