I don’t buy into this whole pumpkin-carving event during Halloween. I hate it and find the whole thing messy and disgusting. I don’t like the fact that once we have carved the pumpkin we leave it exposed to outside elements, which most of the time results in a rotting, shriveling and repulsive sight. So like last year’s “Smashin Pumpkin” , I preferred to do something different. The only problem I had was coming up with something creative. As I was wandering the aisles at Michael’s my little one had a brilliant idea. She said she wanted to do a pumpkin makeover.
With that thought in mind I bought some cute little spooky purple pom poms and assorted rhinestones. Later that day we went to our local farmer’s market and bought a small, really small pumpkin. Yesterday, we officially decided to add spooky glamour to our little pumpkin.
I painted the stalk with metallic purple paint and allowed it to dry for a couple of minutes. I did not bother to apply another coat as I found one coat of paint offered enough coverage.
T and S then proceeded to argue and glue the spooky pom poms one by one making sure each of them got equal amount of pom poms. Once that was done they glued the rhinestones on to the pumpkin.
After all the arguing, screaming, whining and simultaneous gluing, the Pumpkin makeover was finally complete. Although I was happy to have spent some time with the girls and their makeover antics, I was at the same time relieved that it was over. So what do you think about our Spooky Pumpkin Makeover?
