As a mom I am very particular about our dental health and make sure we visit our dentist for the regular dental maintenance. For a couple of years now my dentist has been recommending Tee who is currently eleven to get braces because of an overbite. In my opinion, she has the most perfect set of pearly whites, so I always rubbished the notion of braces for her. However, after attending the “Invisalign Straight Talk” presentation about Invisalign for teens few days back, I recognized I am not as dentally distinguished as I thought I was. I had to accept the fact that I may need to re-visit Invisalign Teen™ for her in the near future.
For those who are not aware of Invisalign for Teens, it is a series of removable aligners developed by leading orthodontists that are used to gradually straighten teeth in pre-teens and teens. These aligners are created using proprietary 3D computer imaging technology, and are made from lightweight plastic that is custom fitted on to each patient. They are distinctively different from regular metal braces in looks as well as comfort but they are just as effective in straightening teeth.
Invisalign Teen™ has tons of advantages over the traditional metal braces. Some of the benefits of Invisalign include:
- The aligners are made from lightweight plastic and are designed to go over the teeth. This allows for hassle-free comfort and protection for the teens in sporting activities and playing musical instruments.
- The aligners are removable and as such offers a lot of flexibility when brushing and flossing.
- Unlike traditional braces, the aligners completely cover the teeth. Kids can eat anything they want without the fear of food particles getting stuck on the metal wires and brackets.
- The aligners are almost invisible and designed to fit the social lifestyle of teens. Having almost indistinguishable braces makes a huge difference in their self-esteem. They are no longer self-conscious of their looks and can still continue with the treatment.
- Invisalign braces are affordable, covered by insurance and cost almost the same as comparable to the traditional braces.
I never had braces so I cannot personally relate to that experience. However, after attending the presentation, I know that if I have to make a choice for Tee, I would definitely lean towards Invisalign. Now that you have read my post what do you think about Invisalign? I would to love to read about your experiences, so feel free to comment. Finally, if you feel you are a good candidate for Invisalign check out their Invisalign Smile Assessment.

Interesting !! I had braces in my teens and those were the tough days with lot of discomfort like inner cheeks getting hurt, painful jaws and difficult in eating. Invisalign seems much better option, but i.only hope it’s also affordable in other part of the globe.
