Lately my five year (for the purpose of this blog I will call her S.S) has been very impressed with Barefoot Contessa. For those of you who are not aware, it is a cooking show by Ina Garten on the Food Network. Inspired by the show, S.S came up with her own version of what she calls ” Cookie Art”. I have to say I was very impressed as she kept herself busy for over an hour trying to design these cookies. I was also impressed by her resourcefulness. She is not tall enough to reach the the pantry, so she dragged a chair and took out some Indian cookies. At the risk of falling and hurting herself she reached out for some colorful sprinkles from the top shelf. After all that hard work she opened the cookies and lay the part with the yellow butter cream on a plate and sprinkled them generously with sprinkles.
She made a plate full of these cookies and came down to the basement where I was sewing and very sweetly asked me to feature her work on my blog. How could I say no to that angelic little face. So I obliged. To make it more interesting I gave her some toothpicks and told her to play around and set it up. This is what she came up with. Enjoy her “Cookie Art” and do tell me what you think. After all S.S. did work so hard for it.
