About the Recipe
I started making frozen mixed berry smoothie as a quick and easy after-school drink for my hungry kids. Having a packet of Mixed Berries in the freezer is super convenient and making this smoothie is a no-fuss recipe.
My little one who is not little anymore, used to ask me to make it. It is her favorite smoothie. Now she is at an age where I don’t have to make it for her anymore. She can make it herself. Since this recipe is quick and can be made instantly, not to mention tasty … she likes to have it during winter months as well

Ingredients & Substitution Notes
Mixed Frozen Berries: include Berry Medley of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. This packet of berry medley can be found in the frozen aisle of Walmart. I like to use these berries because they are convenient and easily available. You can get a packet, keep it in your freezer and use it when ever you want.
Yogurt: I use plain yogurt for this recipe. You can use whole milk or low-fat yogurt.
Sugar: for sweetener, I use regular sugar. However, you can substitute sugar with honey or artificial sweetener of your choice. Add little or more as per your taste preference.
Step to Make Frozen Mixed Berry Smoothie
- Remove the packet of frozen berries from the freezer and allow it to thaw for 30 mins at room temperature.
- Next, add the berries in to a blender jar along with yogurt and sugar and few cubes of ice.
- Blend them until they are all combined.
- Pour and Serve.
Can you Make a Healthy Version of this Instant Smoothie?
Yes, you can definitely make a healthy version of this smoothie. You can substitute low-fat or no-fat yogurt instead of regular yogurt. For sweetener, you can use honey or artificial sweetener to sweeten the smoothie.
My kids don’t like honey, so I use regular sugar. However, if I am making this smoothie just for myself, then I use a packet of Equal. One of my readers recently mentioned to me that monk-fruit sweetener also tastes great, so that is another choice you can try.

Ingredients
- 1 cup mixed frozen berries
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup sugar
Instructions
- Thaw frozen berries.
- Add it to the blender
- Next add yogurt, sugar and couple of ice cubes
- Blend them.
- Pour and enjoy.
Notes
- You can add honey instead of sugar.
- You can any other artificial sweetener of your choice.
