About the Mango Modak Recipe
Religious festivals are always hectic days for me. I like to follow all the traditions and culture. However, sometimes I run out of time. During times like these, I prefer making a quick recipe. This recipe for Mango Modak is done within 20 minutes and minimum ingredients.
So if you are looking for a delightful and hassle-free prasad recipe for Ganesh Chaturthi? Look no further! My Mango Modak Peda recipe is quick and easy, incredibly delicious, and sure to please Lord Ganesha and your taste buds.
Why is this Modak Recipe so easy
Unlike traditional peda modak recipes, you don’t have to spend time stirring and reducing milk for hours until you get milk solids. To save time, I use milk powder to make this modak. The cooking method for the mango modak is also different. I use the microwave to cook all ingredients, and that is not only quicker but efficient as well.
With just 20 minutes of total preparation time and 5 minutes of cooking, you can create these delectable Mango Modak Pedas that are sure to be a hit during the festival. The combination of mango flavor, creamy condensed milk, and the richness of milk powder makes this recipe a true delight for your palate.
Modak and Ganesh Utsav
Lord Ganesh is known to like sweets. Modak and ladoo are his favorites. You can recognize a modak by its teardrop shape and offered as a prasad. Traditionally, modak is made with steamed rice and coconut stuffing. Nowadays, however, modak is made with different ingredients and cooking methods.

Ingredients and Substitute for Modak
Mango Pulp: for this recipe I am using canned mango pulp. Ganesh Utsav falls anywhere between late August to Mid-September. By this time mango season is over and using fresh mangoes is out of question. So canned mango pulp is the perfect alternative. You can find canned mango pulp in Indian stores as well as Amazon.
Condensed Milk: I use condensed milk instead of sugar as a sweetener for this recipe. Condensed milk adds the right amount of sweetness to this recipe. You can use any brand of condensed milk.
Milk Powder: is one of the most important ingredient in this recipe. I like to buy the dry milk powder from Walmart. However, you can use the one available in Indian store. It is available on Amazon as well.
Other Ingredients: include butter, cardamom powder and mango essence (optional). You can find mango essence in Indian stores.
